BEHERE – BUSINESS TRAVEL MADE SIMPLE

“The way we live, work and travel is dramatically changing. We are pursuing new experiences rather than things, and technology is enabling us to work from anywhere. With Behere, we’re providing the platform for this new lifestyle.”

Meesen Brown, Co-founder & CEO

Please tell us more about Behere. How did you come up with the idea?

I was inspired to create Behere after personally dealing with many of the problems Behere solves. I saw the world was changing, especially peoples value systems. We’re moving from materialistic to experiential values, and I know the value of new experiences firsthand. The idea started to come more to life while in a coffee shop in Thailand… there I met my cofounder and discussed the pains of getting set up in each new city while traveling. Every time I found myself rebuilding my foundation, moving to hit or miss apartments and spending way too much time getting settled. I knew there had to be a way to make this lifestyle more attainable and sustainable, especially for women. I met a lot more men living this way but spoke with so many women that said they wanted this. They were beginning to leave toxic work environments, starting their own companies or freelancing and wanted more autonomy. They wanted to create lives they truly loved and with Behere, we can give them the foundation to do this, around the world

With Behere you can have your own, verified, furnished apartment, a creative workspace, a gym or fitness studio to go to and a local woman to greet you. That foundation makes a world of difference for your experience in a new city. It enables you to feel settled right away, to be inspired and to be productive. That’s the goal of Behere, to help you thrive. To be able to plug into different cities around the world, feel inspired and productive and be connected to local communities.

What would you say is the biggest benefit of being a part of Behere community?
Women face a lot of barriers as solo travelers are; safety, loneliness, time-consuming planning, uncertainty, fear, anxiety and wanting to feel connected to their new place. Further, when women travel we often find our routines derailed by being in a new place, and feeling lonely, we want to build connections but don’t know anyone or where to start. At Behere, we aim to solve this. Behere is an inclusive community for all women who crave flexibility. We help women create a lifestyle that meets their individual needs and wants by providing women the foundation to live in cities around the world. We’ve become experts at understanding what women want and finding the best partners, neighborhoods, and spaces to fit our high standards.

We provide our members with verified, furnished private apartments, creative workspaces, tailored fitness memberships, city guides, an amazing local city host, community events, pre arrival information and more!

So instead of signing a year long lease, you’re able to join Behere and live where you want, when you want, without hassles. Our community ranges from women who have fully remote roles to women who are long time entrepreneurs or just starting out to women who are in the in-between and figuring out what is next. Behere is for you if you’re simply looking to get out of your comfort zone and finally start living where you want.

What advice would you give to a woman who wants to start working remotely but still hesitant?
We share a ton of advice, resources and wisdom on our Resources and Community page. Definitely start looking, find out if there’s anyone doing your role remotely, decide if your current role can transition to remote or if you need to find a new role and take steps to make it happen. Dive in further for those steps here.

What do you wish you knew before you started on Behere journey?
How important it is to prioritize your mental and physical health. This is especially important for entrepreneurs, as you’re often working non-stop and need to make time for you. Without your health, you cannot create, inspire or build.

What was your most memorable experience since you’ve launched Behere
Getting to interact with so many amazing women around the world. I’ve done this through hosting events, having phone calls and meetings and actually connecting with our community members around the world.

What does a typical month in your life look like?
Over the last two years, I’ve spent almost every month in a different city. What a typical month looked like varied based on where I was but what remained constant was Behere. Each month we create a strategy and go over monthly goals. At the end of the month our team reviews if we’ve met those goals and then set new ones for the month ahead. I do that in addition to my daily work, and each season/month comes with growth and different things to work on. On a personal level, I prioritize my health and activity daily so I can feel my best.

Your lifestyle obviously requires lots of travelling for work. What is your #1 Tip for having a productive and successful business trip?
Balance and schedule. Use flying time to create content, presentations, or to brainstorm – anything that doesn’t require internet. It’s a great, uninterrupted time to work. As well, I’ve been trying to deal with each email at the time of opening – so while on the go, I draft and schedule responses from my mobile, it’s freed up a lot of time.

Any exciting plans for you and Behere in the nearest future?
We’re launching Paris and London this September and the US shortly after, stay tuned!
